Vicuna
South America is thefourth largest continent of the Western Hemisphere. It is divided politically into 12 independent countries namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela and the overseas department of French Guiana. The continent extends to 7,640 kilometers from Punta Gallinas, Colombia, in the north to Cape Horn, Chile, in the south. At its broadest point, near where it is crossed by the equator, the continent extends to 5,300 kilometers from east to west. South America is connected to North America by the Isthmus of Panama. It is washed on the north by the Caribbean Sea, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean. Topographically the continent is divided into three sections namely the South American cordillera, the interior lowlands, and the continental shield. Roman Catholicism is the dominant religion and Portuguese and Spanish are the primary languages of the continent. Vicuna is a city in northern Chile. Vicuna is a commune in the Province of Elqui, IV Region of Coquimbo, Chile. It limits the west with the communes of the Fig tree, Serena and Andacollo, to the east with Argentina and the south with the communes of Paihuano and Ri'o Hurtado. The city’s population is 24,010 inhabitants, surface area is 7,610 square kilometers and density is 3.2 habitants per square kilometer. Vicuna is characterized to have a character climate transition between the barren slab and the desert one that her neighbor III has Region of Atacama, thus is characterized by almost precipitation absences in summer, in spite of some occasions in which the Bolivian winter manages to whip the cordillerana part and leaves from its valleys, in winter the precipitations concentrate in the months of June and July where an amount approximated in all about 120 falls the annual period of mililiter. It can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
