La Ligua




South America is the fourth largest continent of the Western Hemisphere. It is divided politically into 12 independent countries namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela and the overseas department of French Guiana. The continent extends to 7,640 kilometers from Punta Gallinas, Colombia, in the north to Cape Horn, Chile, in the south. At its broadest point, near where it is crossed by the equator, the continent extends to 5,300 kilometers from east to west. South America is connected to North America by the Isthmus of Panama.
 
La Ligua city is located at about 154 kilometers from Santiago. It has 13,744 inhabitants and it is characterized by rich candies that sell the villagers in the highway dressed in impeccable white suits and baskets. In addition to being well-known by exquisite candies, it is characterized by the elaboration of textiles, in the middle of a privileged climate, ideal for lovers of the nature and the sport.
 
In the month of May, there is a religious celebration in the city of the beautiful valley and in October there is a celebration of the Virgin of Carmen. The tourists are able to know and buy products on the visit of the Archaeological Museum. The visitors can buy products of the main homemade industry such as the weave, scarves, vests, mantles, socks, sweaters and gloves.
 
La Ligua is a city known for its culture, exotic locations, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages. La Ligua is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
