Mendoza




South America is the fourth largest continent of the Western Hemisphere. It is divided politically into 12 independent countries namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela and the overseas department of French Guiana. The continent extends to 7,640 kilometers from Punta Gallinas, Colombia, in the north to Cape Horn, Chile, in the south.
 
South America is connected to North America by the Isthmus of Panama. It is washed on the north by the Caribbean Sea, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean. Topographically the continent is divided into three sections namely the South American cordillera, the interior lowlands, and the continental shield. Roman Catholicism is the dominant religion and Portuguese and Spanish are the primary languages of the continent.
 
Mendoza is one of South America’s most popular destinations, and is well known for the quantity of cultural related attractions and monuments. It is a city that is situated at the foot of the Andes and is the capital city of the homonymous province. It is also the most important city in the western part of Argentina.
 
Mendoza is an incredible oasis to grow fruits and vegetables due to the fertile soil and presence of the Mendoza and Tunuyan Rivers. The typical weather of the region is mild though the mountains provide a certain degree of aridity. The temperature in summer ranges from 18 degrees to 33 degree Celsius.
 
In spite of the intense urbanization that is undergoing in Mendoza, the city embraces historic tradition and keeps many memories of San Martin's epic in the Hill of the Glory, El Plumerillo, San Martin Park and the museums. In the surroundings of Mendoza City, interesting places and towns can be visited that include ruins of San Francisco Church, Maipu, El Challao, Cacheuta, Potrerillos and Vallecitos.
 
Today, Mendoza has grown as one of the most chosen tourist destinations because of the various interesting activities available in the region. It also enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers and is one of the most visited places. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origin back to prehistoric times.
