Lo Barnechea
South America is the fourth largest continent of the Western Hemisphere. It is divided politically into 12 independent countries namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela and the overseas department of French Guiana. The continent extends to 7,640 kilometers from Punta Gallinas, Colombia, in the north to Cape Horn, Chile, in the south. At its broadest point, near where it is crossed by the equator, the continent extends to 5,300 kilometers from east to west. South America is connected to North America by the Isthmus of Panama. It is washed on the north by the Caribbean Sea, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean. Topographically the continent is divided into three sections namely the South American cordillera, the interior lowlands, and the continental shield. Roman Catholicism is the dominant religion and Portuguese and Spanish are the primary languages of the continent. Lo Barnechea is a municipality of the province of Santiago, part of the Santiago metropolitan region in Chile. It is located in the northeastern extremity of the province and contains some of Chile's fanciest neighborhoods including La Dehesa, site of one of Pinochet's homes as well as slums. The largest international school in Santiago, international school nido de aguilas is located in lo barnechea. According to the 2002 census, Lo Barnechea had a population of 74,749. The population of the district grew by up to 50 percent since the previous census in 1992, and is expected to keep on rising quickly because of big urbanization projects now in place, such us in the exclusive neighborhood of La Dehesa.
Lo Barnechea, due to its many historic events and places it has been one of the favorite destinations of visitors. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace.
