Junin




South America is thefourth largest continent of the Western Hemisphere. It is divided politically into 12 independent countries namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela and the overseas department of French Guiana. The continent extends to 7,640 kilometers from Punta Gallinas, Colombia, in the north to Cape Horn, Chile, in the south. At its broadest point, near where it is crossed by the equator, the continent extends to 5,300 kilometers from east to west.
 
Junin is a city in province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and capital of the municipality of Junin. It has a population of 82,427 in 2001 census and is situated 260 kilometers west of Buenos Aires. Junin is the city where Eva Peron was raised. Junin is a region in the central highlands of Peru. Its capital is Huancayo and total area is of 44,197.23 square kilometers. The city population is near about 1, 246, 663 in 2002 and density is 28.2 per square kilometers.
 
The geography of Junin region has a very heterogeneous topography. The western cordillera located near the border with the Lima region, has snowy and ice covered peaks. On the east, there are high glaciar valleys which end up in high plateaus Altiplano.
 
Junin is also one of the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destinations that enjoy a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
