Puerto la Cruz
South America is thefourth largest continent of the Western Hemisphere. It is divided politically into 12 independent countries namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela and the overseas department of French Guiana. The continent extends to 7,640 kilometers from Punta Gallinas, Colombia, in the north to Cape Horn, Chile, in the south. At its broadest point, near where it is crossed by the equator, the continent extends to 5,300 kilometers from east to west. Puerto la Cruz is a Venezuelan city and port, in the state of Anzoategui and a capital of Juan Antonio Sotillo municipality. It is the second vital city of Anzoategui State after Barcelona, which is bordered by Lecherias city and Guanta city. It is located on Pozuelos Bay and is on the Caribbean Sea, close to Mochima National Park. It is a big financial and economic center of eastern Venezuelan and a tourist city of Eastern Venezuelan. Puerto La Cruz homes an oil refinery, which is one of the most significant in the country. It refines about 200,000 barrels of oil every day and supplies the domestic market along with the Caribbean countries like Cuba and the Antilles. Its chief economic activity is tourism due to good infrastructure and is able to receive tourists from many countries. There are lots of ports from which people head off to the beaches of Mochima National Park and the island beaches. It is also famous for the port for ferries, which goes to Margarita Island in Nueva Esparta State. A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Puerto La Cruz is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
