Villa General Belgrano
South America is thefourth largest continent of the Western Hemisphere. It is divided politically into 12 independent countries namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela and the overseas department of French Guiana. The continent extends to 7,640 kilometers from Punta Gallinas, Colombia, in the north to Cape Horn, Chile, in the south. At its broadest point, near where it is crossed by the equator, the continent extends to 5,300 kilometers from east to west. South America is connected to North America by the Isthmus of Panama. It is washed on the north by the Caribbean Sea, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean. Topographically the continent is divided into three sections namely the South American cordillera, the interior lowlands, and the continental shield. Roman Catholicism is the dominant religion and Portuguese and Spanish are the primary languages of the continent. Villa General Belgrano mountainous village is located 87 kilometers away from the Provincial Capital City and 110 kilometers away from Pajas Blancas International Airport in a privileged site in the great Valley of Calamuchita. Villa General Belgrano, known as Town of the Cultures is situated at 750 meters above sea level and borders on Sierras Chicas to the east, on Sierras Grandes to the west and is equidistant from Los Molinos Lake and Rio Tercero Dam. Most of the inhabitants belong to native groups or descendants of Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Hungary and Spain. Villa General Belgrano surprises the tourist with its traditional festivals, its art, and the peculiar central European architectural style. During the month of October, thousands of people converge at this city to take part in the National Beer Festival, one of the most expected events in the year, commonly known as Oktoberfest. Most of the houses are built with wood and two hip roofs with red tails that provide with an atypical style. The strategic location of Villa General Belgrano allows the tourist to go on different excursions and visit the attractions of the Valley to go back to the Village during the same day. Villa General Belgrano is a city with endless recreational opportunities, rich history, and modern day luxuries.
